During Larren Silver's successful tenure at Western Texas College (record 82-69),  he helped several players earn athletic scholarships to continue their playing careers at NCAA D1 schools including San Diego, Southern Methodist, Montana, Nevada, Grand Canyon, California Riverside, Jacksonville FL, New Hampshire, Louisiana Monroe, Tennessee Martin, Indiana Purdue - Fort Wayne, Niagara, and Louisiana Lafayette.  Silver recorded his 100th head coaching victory vs. South Plains College on February 25, 2016.
Prior to being named head coach at Western Texas College, Silver spent seven years from 2004 to 2011 in NJCAA Region V as an assistant coach for Midland College and McLennan College. During that time he was part of 4 Conference Championships, 1 Regional Championship and an Elite 8 appearance in the National Tournament.  His overall Junior College total record is (257-119). He played collegiate ball at McLennan (redshirt) 1996, New Mexico JC 1997, Hill 1998, and Mary -Hardin Baylor 1998 - 2000.
